My blog

Hey guys

You ever wondered why the media are so obsessed with celebrities? Wel i decided i wanted to do research on why the media are obsessed with the lives of celebrities. They media are making thousands by writing about the latest news on celebrites and they can also be seen on t.v, magazines, internet and so on. Like the death of Michael Jackson caused such a worldwide media frenzy they were following the story from the day news broke out that he died. Everyone wanted to know the latest gossip on what was happening. I mean the media are always talking about the latest event like the MTV awards and millions of people will be tuned in to see it while those soldiers being honoured with a medal wont even be broadcasted.

Adios for now...lolz

  1. About the M.J thing, I think its sad how the media hasseled him so much, accusing him of numerous things before they even knew the truth. Now that hes dead the media are swarming on his family, trying to get all the info they can.

  2. Its really sad when you see the media alwyas trying to bring out the worst information of celebrities and then getting it uot there for the public to read even though the information is totally wrong. Like Michael Jacksons death, before he died they were accusing him of all sorts of things that led to such a downfall on his career all thanks to the media. Now that hes passed they still want to know more about his life and his family.

  3. Hey Mana,

Awesome subject. I totally agree with you. I think its outrages how obsessed the paparazzi are with getting as many pictures as possible of a celebrity walking across the street when there are so many other things going on in the world that deserve way more coverage. I used to work at Millennium Dance Studio in LA which is one of the major studios out there that alot of the celebrities go to to practice and rehearse for there performances, etc, and it was actually disgusting to me how insane these paparazzi were! They would offer me and my co-workers hundreds of dollars just to let them take one photo or have on peek at certain celebrities! (Of course the money was tempting, but we would get fired from our jobs if we took it! haha) we would have to tape garbage bags over the windows so they couldnt see in and we would have to lock the gates to the parking lot so they couldnt come in through the back. Even then, they would jump the fences and literally plow through me and my co-workers just to say "hi britney, can you smile for my camera!". Its so retarded! They would even smash their bodies against the windows to try and make the garbage bags fall down! We would then see this whole scene the next day on the news and it would turn into something so insane that had no relevance to what actually happen! They just want to cause commotion and put out dramatic stories on the news just for money and attention! Its so degrading! And it is so sad that these celebrities work so hard to entertain us all and to put out amazing music or movies or whatever it is that they are doing, just to get all this in return! I cant even imagine how hard it would be to live their lives!

  5. I have to agree with you, Mana, that celebrities have become some kind of freakish, living commodities to these papaprazzi-types. I'm so tired of hearing about Britney's latest supermarket meltdown, or David Beckham's next big hairstyle and/or newest-born son. Puh-lease. Great blog topic, by the way.

  6. Hey Mana!! i really like the topic you have choosen for your filter blog. I agree with you that the media (and Paparazzi's) are just sooo obssesed with celebrities, and some of the things they talk about for example could happen to any normal person and OF COURSE it would never be written about, but as soon as it happens to a celebrity its a huge deal and every magazine is writing about it. I also wanna comment on what Elana said about how they would see it on the news the next day and it would be nothing of what actually happened, am a notetaker, and therefore i go from class to class, and one of the classes iv note-taked in is a communications studies, and the LECTURER tells the students that he doesnt even listen 2 news or anything media related because it is ALL NOT TRUE. Which i find quite interesting as they are studying media, but then again this proves that nothing we see on the news is what actually happened.

Anyways, i really like your topic, and i hope the media give these celebrities a break!
